Location: Torre Annunziata is situated approx 16km SE of Naples.
General overview: The port is sheltered within two breakwaters from all but SE'ly winds which may cause a build up of surf inside the harbour.
The port is mainly used for unloading cereals. There are 3 quays for.
Ships' services generally arrive via Naples where there are also a number of agencies.

Load Line zone: Summer.

GENERAL MARINE INFORMATION

Tanker regulations for Italian ports: Tankers over 1,600gt, entering or leaving Italian ports and carrying, or with uncleaned tanks which last carried, petroleum, gas or chemical products, are required to make a comprehensive report to the appropriate Port Captain.
 Such tankers must establish and maintain radio contact, preferably by VHF, with the Port Captain, advising him immediately of incidents or defects which may affect the safety of navigation or cause pollution. Pilots should be employed outside the areas of compulsory pilotage whenever the nature of the cargo or navigational conditions, including visibility require.

PRE ARRIVAL INFORMATION

 ETA's: ETA to be advised to agent 24 hours prior to arrival. Cargo vessels to advise additional ETA 12 hours prior to arrival with the following information:

1. Last port of call
2. Draft on arrival.

No special forms are required except an Arrival and Departure Report.
Ship's landing card accepted by local authorities.
Communications: VHF: Ch 16, 9.
Health regulations: Pratique should be applied for to Sanimare, Naples through agent 24 hours prior to arrival. If vessel is arriving from an infected area, vaccination certificates are required.
Derat and Derat Exemption Certificates can be renewed upon request to Sanimare Naples/Harbour Master.

NAVIGATION

 Sea buoys, fairways and channels: The entrance to the harbour between the mole heads is narrowed by a bank with depths of less than 5.5m over it which extends 150m SW of the head of Molo di Levante, and is marked by a light beacon (starboard hand; radar reflector).
 A shellfish bed is situated close SW of the elbow on Molo di Ponente. Its outer corners are marked by a buoy and a lightbuoy (both special). Entry into this area is prohibited.
 Darsena di Ponente is situated in the N part of the harbour and is protected by a mole extending E from the NW shore. A light is exhibited from a red post on the mole head.
 Pilot: Compulsory for vessels over 500gt. Pilotage is available from day light hrs only except for oil and chemical tankers  .
Anchorages: Anchorage is obtainable off Torre Annunziata in depths of more than 10m, sand, good holding ground.

Vessels anchoring in the road are advised to drop anchor using plenty of cable, as SSE and SW winds raise a sea.
Tidal range and flow: Under 0.3m.
Dock density: 1025.
Weather: Prevailing winds: NW'ly.
Principal navigation aids: Molo di Ponente projects 370m SSE from the coast near the W end of the town. At its head stands a light structure (red metal column on a pedestal) 6m in height. Molo di Levante extends 280m SW from the NE side of the harbour.

Berth destinations

At Crocelle Quay is possible to disembark general cargos, at the Eastern mole is possible discharge cereals(two silos of total capacity 120.000 M/T managed by the SO.LA.CEM. company) and chemical products. The Western mole is dedicate to chemical tankers with products of grade "A" and "B", Acrilonitrile e Methanol (products classified dangerous for inhalation (T) classified R23 as said in the Decreto del Ministero della Sanità 16.02.93), and others products classified novice except   highly novices  (T+).regarding the others grade dangerous for inhalation (T) differents of the "Acrilonitrile e Methanol" but with the same grade of risk R23 the transit is subordinate to the clearance of the port chemist . To be request prior the ship leave the loading port .

FREESH WATER SUPPLIES

Two fresh water pipelines are available on Crocelle Quay max rate 90 tons per day.
